ELS DE SAU
SYNOPSIS
Late-1980s Catalonia witnesses the early artistic steps of Carles Sabater, a young aspiring
actor who has just been chosen to host a new program on TV3, where he will interview
various guests. One of them is Pep Sala, who makes a living teaching music. The chemistry
between the two is immediate, and that very night the spontaneous idea of forming a rock
band is born.
They recruit an inexperienced but enthusiastic manager, Joan Capdevila, who quickly
becomes a key figure in the band’s development.
Together, they rent a house in the middle of nowhere in Vilanova de Sau, where they write
and rehearse songs alongside musicians who are just as enthusiastic as they are. Their first
concert comes about almost by accident: after inviting around twenty people to hear their
songs, more than 200 show up. Unexpectedly, it becomes a complete success.
Carles’s seductive voice and Pep’s outstanding melodies prove to be a perfect match. They
manage to record an album, but financial hardship and constant disappointments begin to
shake their dreams. Achieving them will depend on their passion for music—and their true
friendship.
